Alpha-N Performance is Planning Alpha One Supercar

German tuning house aims to break new ground with a heavily modified Cayman-based supercar.

As a relatively new player on the tuning scene, it comes as something of a surprise to find that Alpha-N Performance has plans for its very own supercar. Well, sorta. The Alpha One is based on a Porsche Cayman but with custom carbon-fiber bodywork, suspension and enhanced engine that could amount to more original content than stock. The tuner plans to offer a number of output levels, ranging from a humble 300 horsepower to a bonkers 800.

With just 1,080-1,280 kg of weight to lug around, that could amount to ludicrous levels of performance. What we're looking at, then, could amount to a German take on the same formula that transformed theLotus Exige into the Hennessey Venom GT. And with a design that seems to take its cues from the Porsche 918 Spyderand Ruf CTR3 - another vehicle that takes a few basic components from the Cayman in a new direction - the Alpha One could shape up to be one devastating package indeed.
